📝 About

From McAllen, Texas, Grupo Frontera has become one of the pioneering and most inclusive groups leading the new wave of Mexican music. Known for their distinctive norteño sound and their ability to collaborate across genres, the group continues to transcend borders with over 37 million monthly Spotify listeners and more than 7 million followers across social media, reaffirming their position as leaders of the modern regional movement on a global scale.

Formed in 2022 by a group of close friends from South Texas’ Rio Grande Valley — Adelaido Solís III, Julián Peña Jr., Alberto Acosta, Carlos Guerrero, and Juan Javier Cantú — Grupo Frontera was born from a desire to experiment, break molds, and redefine the sound of the genre. Through a unique fusion of traditional norteño roots and contemporary influences, the group has revolutionized regional Mexican music.

Their major breakthrough came with the release of “No Se Va”, which became only the fifth regional Mexican song ever to enter the Billboard Hot 100 and earned them the Latin American Music Award for Best Regional Mexican Song. Soon after, their collaboration with global superstar Bad Bunny on “un x100to” solidified their status as one of the most successful acts in Latin music, reaching #1 on the Billboard Global 100 for 20 consecutive weeks and ranking among the most-streamed songs worldwide on Spotify.

In 2023, the band released their highly anticipated debut album, “El Comienzo,” which featured collaborations with major artists like Grupo Firme, Junior H, Carin León, Bad Bunny, and Manuel Turizo. The album quickly climbed the charts, reaching #34 on the Billboard 200 and becoming one of the most streamed albums in Mexico. Thanks to this project, Grupo Frontera earned their first Latin GRAMMY® in 2024 for Best Norteño Album, along with an additional nomination for Best Contemporary Mexican Music Album.

Their second studio album, “Jugando A Que No Pasa Nada” (2024), showcased their artistic evolution through 12 songs exploring life, love, and heartbreak, with collaborations alongside Christian Nodal, Maluma, Morat, and Nicki Nicole. The album earned them multiple honors at the 2025 Premios Juventud, including Favorite Group or Duo of the Year, The Perfect Mix for their collaboration with Maluma on “Por Qué Será”, and Tropical Mix for “Hoy No Me Siento Bien” with Alejandro Sanz, as well as Best Mexican Music Album for the same project.
Closing out 2024, the group surprised fans with a joint album with Fuerza Regida, titled “Mala Mía,” which continues climbing the charts and setting trends. Their recent releases also include the EP “Y Lo Que Viene” and singles like “No Capea” with Xavi.

In April 2025, the group was invited to perform at NPR’s prestigious Tiny Desk, marking another milestone in their international expansion and bringing the norteño sound to new global audiences. That same year, Grupo Frontera earned two Latin GRAMMY® nominations for Best Regional Mexican Song
with “Hecha Pa’ Mi” and “Me Jalo” featuring Fuerza Regida, while also dominating the 2025 Billboard Latin Music Awards with nominations in major categories including Duo or Group of the Year on Hot Latin Songs and Top Latin Albums, Song of the Year, Latin Airplay, Tropical Song of the Year, Regional Mexican Duo or Group of the Year, and Regional Mexican Song of the Year.
Their artistic growth is further reflected in their latest album, “Lo Que Me Falta Por Llorar” (2025), a project that marks a new era for the band and their first release under The Orchard. Across thirteen tracks, the group transforms melancholy and vulnerability into rhythm, featuring standout collaborations with Ozuna, Myke Towers, Tito Double P, Fuerza Regida, Cris MJ, and Los Dareyes de la Sierra.

Throughout their career, Grupo Frontera has collaborated with some of the most renowned artists in the industry, including Alejandro Sanz, Carin León, Carlos Santana, Christian Nodal, Fuerza Regida, Maluma, Manuel Turizo, Myke Towers, Netón Vega, Ozuna, Peso Pluma, and Shakira, showcasing their versatility and ability to connect with audiences worldwide.
With multiple sold-out tours across the U.S. and Latin America and billions of streams globally, Grupo Frontera continues to make an indelible mark on Latin music. Their constant evolution, authenticity, and deep connection with fans position them as one of the most powerful and influential forces defining the future of regional Mexican music.
